Wiesenthal Centre to Israel Boxer Club: "Bar German Neo-Nazi from Israel"

In a letter to Israel Boxer Club President, Shosh Gold, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Director for International Relations, Dr Shimon Samuels, advised that a notorious neo-Nazi intended to participate in the forthcoming Israeli dog show.

Samuels noted that "Torsten Lemmer is a former 'Republikaner' and was a central figure on the White Power Skinhead music-scene. His music label RockNord, also the name of his international mail-order company for neo-Nazi badges, flags, CD's, tee-shirts and magazines, often incited to Jew-hatred."

Samuels continued, "Having sold these assets, Lemmer is trying to remarket himself since his election to the Düsseldorf municipal council, though he reportedly continues to express admiration for historic Nazi figures."

The Centre stressed that "Lemmer may now claim a distance from neo-Nazi groups but, until he publicly condemns them and establishes a record of anti-Nazi initiatives, we urge you to bar him from your dog shows."

The letter concluded, "He is not a fellow Boxer-breeder, nor a latter day redeemed friend of Zion."
