Wiesenthal Center To UN: Blame The Perpetrators, Not The Victims "It is outrageous that those who have made a career out of anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial now find it useful to rediscover it," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder of the Wiesenthal Center.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned the international community's labeling of Israel's incursion into Gaza as a 'disproportionate response.' "For more than two years, the Security Council has been asleep at the wheel, refusing to draft a single resolution specifically condemning the daily rocket attacks from Gaza against innocent Israeli civilians," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Wiesenthal Center. "Today's reaction, like Security Council resolutions in the past, shows a bias in dealing with the real facts, namely to stand up against the Hamas-led terrorists and say 'enough is enough.'" Hier continued, "Every nation who is criticizing Israel's response knows that they would do exactly the same if their civilians faced daily rocket attacks. If there is anything disproportionate, it is the Security Council's silence and lack of balance in dealing with Hamas," Hier continued. Regarding statements from the Arab world comparing the Israeli attacks to the Holocaust, "It is outrageous that those who have made a career out of anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial ...now find it useful to remember that it happened," Hier concluded.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over 400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the OAS and the Council of Europe.
