Wiesenthal Center Denounces Cowardly Behavior of German Police in Response to Anti-Semitic Violence in Duisberg

Jerusalem – The Simon Wiesenthal Center today denounced the cowardly behavior of the German police in the city of Duisberg who in response to violence by anti-Israel protesters entered a private home and removed an Israeli flag hanging in the window.

In a statement issued in Jerusalem by Israel director Dr. Efraim Zuroff, the Center denounced the behavior of the Duisberg police as “cowardly” and “incomprehensible” and clearly biased against Israel.

According to Zuroff:

“Can anyone imagine the German police going into a private home to remove a Hamas flag? This type of response will only encourage more aggressive and violent behavior by anti-Israel demonstrators and send the message that in Germany, Jews and supporters of Israel do not enjoy the full protection of the law.”
