Stop New Anti-Israel Initiative

October 13, 2009

>UPDATE:

  • BREAKING NEWS: Just Confirmed - UN Human Rights Council convening Special Session on 'Goldstone Report'  Thursday in Geneva - the 6th time in 3 years the Council has singled-out Israel for a 'Special Session'.

  • 'Goldstone Report' Debate at UN Security Council Tomorrow  - Please join the thousands signing the petition urging the US to veto any UN action.

URGENT ACTION: US MUST VETO 'GOLDSTONE REPORT':
Israel committed war crimes … is guilty of crimes against humanity … Israel targeted civilians”

Failing to document Hamas' publicly stated use of human shields, Judge Goldstone instead accused Israel of targeting civilians.

This week, at the urging of Libya, the United Nations Security Council has moved up its next Middle East meeting at which the findings of the so-called 'Goldstone Report' will be raised.

This report, the latest outrage from the UN Human Rights Council, written by a UN investigative team headed by Judge Richard Goldstone, a South African Jew, alleges that Israel committed “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza last December and January.

Worse, the report, in effect, compares Israelis to Nazis and other tyrants by accusing Israel of deliberately targeting civilians.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has communicated our concerns to United States UN Ambassador Susan Rice urging the US to:

  1. Publicly and definitively denounce the so-called 'Goldstone Report'
  2. Veto any and all moves to bring the 'Goldstone Report' for consideration before the United Nations Security Council

Ambassador Rice needs to hear from you NOW - Together we need to challenge the 'Goldstone Report' because:

  • it is a 600-page hatchet job that falsely accuses Israel of “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity”
  • if its outrageous recommendations are accepted by the UN, Israeli soldiers and officials could be arrested and prosecuted by the International Criminal Court
  • left unchallenged, in the future, all nations could also be subject to prosecution for the “crime” of defending their citizens against terrorists

Please act immediately – we need to get your message to Ambassador Rice in the next 24 hours.
