LA Mayor, Top Law Enforcement Officials And Jewish Leaders Confer On Terrorist Threats And Measures To Increase Security During High Holy Days

With the recent federal grand jury indictment of four figures linked to an extremist Islamic group in Folsom State Prison on charges related to threats against various sites in Southern California, including synagogues, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; LAPD Chief William Bratton; Acting Director-In-Charge, FBI Los Angeles, Randy Parsons; California Homeland Security Deputy Director, Errol Southers; Los Angeles City Councilmember Jack Weiss; President of the L.A. Police Commission, John Mack; Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Rabbi Marvin Hier, and Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles President, John Fishel, gathered to announce measures to increase the protection of Jewish houses of worship and schools during the Jewish High Holy Days.

The press briefing took place Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Museum of Tolerance, 9786 W. Pico Blvd. (corner Pico and Roxbury).
