Over 200 rockets have been launched into Israel, affecting millions of citizens after the killing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader Bahaa Abu Al-Ata in Gaza. Al-Ata, who was responsible for terrorist attacks and rocket firings into Israel, was in the midst of planning a series of attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
“Israel, has the same rights as every other country protecting its citizens from arch terrorists who are responsible for murdering and maiming dozens of Israelis,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean, Simon Wiesenthal Center.
“Israel has many Abu Bakr al-Baghdadis [the Isis leader] who was killed in a US raid in northwestern Syria last month. Al-Ata was just one of Israel’s many 'al-Baghdadis',” Hier concluded.
