| Honoring "The Greatest Generation" includes the Mauthausen flag, secretly sewn by inmates of Mauthausen concentration camp in anticipation of their liberation by American forces, uniforms, other archival materials and films highlighting veterans and liberators. |

| Native American twins Bennett and Benjamin Freeny, pictured left, were American soldiers who helped liberate the Dachau concentration camp. Shortly after liberation, Bennett stripped a German officer of his Iron Cross, pictured right. Both artifacts are part of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s vast archival holding, currently on display in the Museum of Tolerance. |
