GENOCIDE, THE WIESENTHAL CENTER’S ACADEMY AWARDTM WINNING FILM ON THE NAZI HOLOCAUST, BROADCAST INTO IRAN


To counter the controversial statements by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad in which he discredits the Nazi Holocaust as a “myth” fabricated to justify the State of Israel, National Iranian Television,  the Los Angeles-based expatriate network will be broadcasting Genocide, the 1980 film by the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Moriah Films. The documentary, which won an Academy Award™ for Best Documentary, is a unique multi-image documentary which combines historical narrative with actual of ordinary people to tell the story of the Holocaust.
       
The three hour program, also featured discussion of Ahmedijejad’s statements, the Mideast conflict, and the history of relations betweens Jews and Iranians.
