Funding of Palestinian Publications Inciting Hate and Terrorism Denounced by SWC at Meeting at European Parliament

Dr. Shimon Samuels, SWC Director for International Relations, gave the keynote address to the European Coalition for Israel Annual Meeting in the European Parliament , Brussels.

At the European Parliament meeting, Dr. Samuels publicly challenged the European Commission's Near East Unit Director, Leonidas Tezapsidsis, regarding the funding of Palestinian publications.

Samuels gave examples of Palestinian children's books that incite to terrorism displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair and the danger of funding "social welfare" - ostensibly charitable agencies inextricably linked to Hamas - designated as terrorist by the EU.

Tezapsidis responded, "This year, the EU subsidies to Palestinian causes amounts to 540,000,000 euro (720,000,000 dollars)" that "there is as much accountability as possible" and "the EU insists on a disclaimer in all publications it funds."

Left to right on podium: Michael Kuhn (European Catholic Bishops Conference), Nassim Ben Iman (Granum Sinapsis, Germanu), MEP Thomas Sandell (Finland), ECI Chairman H. Specht, Dr. Samuels, David Muyiwa Adeola (United Kingdom).
